Project Description

5 “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. 6 If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. 7 If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. 8 This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples. John 15:5-8

I wonder what would have come of Billy Graham if those men would have not prayed? I wonder what would have happened to the 100’s of millions who have placed their faith in Jesus Christ as a result of Billy Graham’s faithfulness to share the good news of Jesus with them? Those farmers never could have imagined the impact their prayer would have on the world in the years following, or could they have?

Are those farmers any different than you? NO. No, they are not. Never underestimate the power of prayer. When you are praying according to God’s will, your prayer is unstoppable.  Jesus made this promise: “If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you” (John 15:7).

We like the part about Asking whatever we want, but is it really whatever WE want? We tend to forget about the first part of this verse: If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you . . . If we are walking in fellowship with God and studying the Word of God, then we will start praying according to the will of God. And then we will start seeing our prayers answered.

First John 5:14–15 says, “Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.

Therefore, we should never give up or back down. We need to keep praying. That is why Jesus said, “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you” (Matthew 7:7).

What prayer is God leading you to pray? You just never know what God is going to do…but one thing for sure, He doesn’t answer 100% of the prayers you don’t pray. Let’s get praying, remember though, it’s not just what WE want, take time to listen to what He wants you to pray.

PRAY TODAY

  • Pray that God would raise up others like Billy Graham to carry the Gospel to the world.

  • Pray that God would manifest His glory in worship this week so that everyone in attendance knows they were in the presence of God.

  • Pray that God would draw the lost to Himself as we lift Him high in worship on Easter Sunday.

  • Begin thinking of who you can invite to Easter services…Pray that they would accept your invitation and come…who knows, they may be the next Billy Graham?!
