Project Description

Oh Come to the Altar… Isn’t that such a wonderful concept? It’s not like being “taken to the woodshed!” It’s more like refreshment and peace from being taken to the woodshed by the world. Take a few minutes today to practice what we talked about yesterday. Our Sin, big or small, from how we talk to each other to outright disobedience of God influences the effectiveness of our prayers.

In the same way, you husbands must give honor to your wives. Treat your wife with understanding as you live together … Treat her as you should so your prayers will not be hindered. 1 Peter 3:7

Take a few minutes today and start fresh in your relationship with God. If you sincerely make the following Scripture your prayer, as David did, you just might be used like David was.

“Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me away from Thy presence and do not take Thy Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of Thy salvation, and sustain me with a willing spirit.” Psalm 51:10-12

Take a few moments in Preparation in coming to the Altar:

  • Praise God for who He is

  • Allow His Spirit to draw you near

Ask God to:

  • Search through your life and reveal any sin

  • Help you be honest with Him about your sin

  • Fill you with a deep desire for holiness

  • Help you hate the sin in your life

  • Help you surrender sinful thoughts and practices

  • Help you live more faithfully

  • Restore any lost joy in your walk with Him

Let God know how Thankful you are for the Privilege of Coming to His Alter:

  • Thank God for hearing you

  • Trust that God is at work to accomplish His will

  • Thank Him in Advance for His protection and provision for the Mexico Mission Trip as they fly out today.

  • Thank Him for His promise to meet with His people for worship. “For where two or three gather together as my followers, I am there among them.” Matthew 18:20 Let Him know you are excited about meeting with Him for worship with other believers tomorrow and thank Him for the privilege of coming to His altar.
