If some unbelieving outsiders walk in on a service where people are speaking out God’s truth, the plain words will bring them up against the truth and probe their hearts. As they listen, their secret thoughts will be exposed, and they will fall to their knees and worship God, declaring, “God is truly here among you.†1 Corinthians 14:24-25 (MSG,NLT)
What would you say is the most important thing about our church? For some the answer might be our church meets my spiritual, emotional, or relational needs. Or it meets my family’s needs. As you think about our church, who are some of the people that have or are making a difference in your life? What are some of the ministries of our church that deepen your relationship to the Lord?
I have been in 100’s of church’s over the past 45 years…from growing up in a pastor’s home to the past 30 years of ministry I have noticed that some churches are very friendly to guests while others have a harder time approaching people that they do not know.
In the text we read today, we find what I think is the best response to the question “What would you say is the most important thing about our church?†First, an unbeliever discovers the truth about a Savior, next accepts Jesus, and finally shouts “God is really among you!†It’s about bringing God glory. How great if this could be said about every church in our country.
God will bring lost people in to His Church when He is lifted up. They will come to Christ when the Church does the work of the Church. As we show and speak the grace and truth of Christ, lives will be changed. Get excited! Sunday is coming.

Pray that God would draw the lost in our communities to Himself this week (that children, teenagers, college aged and adults would start coming to faith in Christ each week through our church.)

Pray that God would move through our church family in such a way that people just like in this Scripture would walk into our service each week and give their lives to Christ because of what they see and hear.

Pray that God would use you to be a part of other’s people coming to faith and growing in their faith.

Ask God to help you reflect His presence to those around you today.
