Project Description

1 John 5:14: “This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.”

We never know when our prayer will be answered, but they will not go unanswered. In fact you might be the answer to someone else’s prayers.

George Mueller who lived back in the 1800’s  raised millions of dollars to support 1000’s of orphans over his lifetime. He made a commitment to God not to tell anyone but Him about his needs. He prayed. And prayed and prayed. And God provided for each need. Thousands of documented prayers answered. “The children are dressed and ready for school. But there is no food for them to eat,” the housemother of the orphanage informed George Mueller one day. George asked her to take the 300 children into the dining room and have them sit at the tables. He thanked God for the food and waited. George knew God would provide food for the children as he always did.

Within minutes, a baker knocked on the door. “Mr. Mueller,” he said, “last night I could not sleep. Somehow I knew that you would need bread this morning. I got up and baked three batches for you. I will bring it in.”  Soon, there was another knock at the door. It was the milkman. His cart had broken down in front of the orphanage. The driver thought to himself, “I have to do something quick or this milk will spoil.” So he looked around and saw the orphanage. So he knocked on the door and asked Mr Mueller “You don’t by chance need any milk this morning do you?” George smiled as the milkman brought in ten large cans of milk. It was just enough for the 300 thirsty children.

More than 10,000 children lived in the orphanage over the years. When each child became old enough to live on his own, George would pray with him and put a Bible in his right hand and a coin in his left. He explained to the young person that if he held onto what was in his right hand, God would always make sure there was something in his left hand as well.

I’m convinced that we’re only a prayer away from a dream being realized, a promise kept or even a miracle performed.   If God is so for us, why don’t we live like it? Why don’t we pray like it?

PRAY TODAY:

  • That God would move in our hearts powerfully in worship this Sunday.

  • That God would protect our teens and draw them close to Himself. That they would grow in their faith and follow close to Him. That they would not fall prey to temptation, but would remain strong in their faith.

  • That God would powerfully provide financially for our church family this year. That we would be faithful to follow God’s leading in our service and stewardship.
