Project Description

Psalm 139:13-16 For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.

Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Why is it that we don’t naturally feel the way Loui Giglio just described in that video? When we look in the mirror we see too short, too tall, too thin, too heavy. If we all were honest, many of us are not happy with the way we were made.

Deep down in our hearts we feel we’re not smart enough, or outgoing enough, or etc. etc. etc. Is it because we have bought into a lie that we have to look and act a certain way to be accepted?

True love and acceptance does not come from changing ourselves to become more loveable, for according to Psalm 139, we all are already loved just the way we are. In verse 14, the psalmist cries out “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” We ALL are a miracle!

When God created us, He made us exactly the way He planned. When He designed us, before we were even in our mother’s womb, He planned our size, the color of our eyes, the color of our skin, everything about us! Just as He proclaimed His creation good in Genesis 1, He proclaims that we were made perfect in His sight.

The Bible says that you are unique, and that while you were being formed in your mother’s womb, God approved.  There is only one you, with your combination of looks, personality, talents, and opportunities.  Because of this, there are things that the Lord wants to accomplish in this world and in the lives of others, that can only be done through you as you are led by him!  What a colossal waste of time it is, then, to put that all on hold by vainly wishing you were like someone else, with their talents or their position or their abilities.

PRAY TODAY:

  • Seek the Lord today, and ask Him by His Holy Spirit to make you all that He wants you to be and to use you in the way he wants to use you.

  • Thank Him out loud for Loving You! Making You, You! Having a plan for You! A Hope for You. For Sending His Son to die on a cross to forgive you. Redeem You. Purchase You. Praise Him for He is great and Worthy to be praised.

  • Ask God to show you the one thing that you need to pray for every day for the remaining 32 Days. Maybe it’s praying for your kids, your spouse, the growth and impact of our church in the community, a friend to come to Christ…just take the remainder of your time today listening to God’s answer to that question.
